My podcasting professor drilled the idea of a “t-shaped journalist” in my head—having a variety of skills, but honing in on a particular interest. I will always be an investigative reporter at heart, but I’ve explored everything from copyediting and data reporting to podcasting and social media.

Engagement journalism snuck up on me and became my second love.

I am now a graduate student in engagement journalism at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York, with a focus in Health and Science.
