My podcasting professor drilled the idea of a “t-shaped journalist” in my head—having a variety of skills, but honing in on a particular interest. I will always be a long-form investigative writer, but I’ve explored everything from copyediting and data reporting to podcasting and social media.

Engagement journalism snuck up on me and became my second love.

I am now a graduate student in engagement journalism at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York, concentrating in investigative reporting.
